Parrish Cooper Awards & Accomplishements

PARRISH COOPER is a commissioned fine oil portrait artist. Parrishʼs unique, sensitive, and insightful paintings display a commitment for portraying not just the outer likeness of her subjects, but their character and personality as well. A self-described people person, Parrish enthusiastically shares her excitement for interpreting her clients on canvas in a traditional yet painterly style.

Parrish received a BFA in painting from Indiana University, Herron School of Art & Design. As Indianaʼs State Ambassador for the Portrait Society of America, her goal is to create a greater level of appreciation and understanding of portrait and figurative art among the public and within the art community. In addition to the fine oil portraits, Parrish exhibits a passion for both abstract art and realism.

“In everyday life, I am privileged to make my living as a portrait
artist. My most recent body of work, called the revision series,
mixes elements of abstraction with realistic figures; which
developed from my innermost passion for abstraction
combined with my love for art history.

In rare moments away from the technically challenging world of portraits, I like to play with abstraction and see where that
takes me...”She often humorously describes her portrait art as “Billy Graham” and her abstract/realistic art as “Lady Gaga”.
Racquetball, weight training, sailing, and snow skiing are her avocations.
